For Agencies, House Managers & Referring Partners

Home Ergonomics works regularly with private households across Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, and the surrounding counties.

About Home Ergonomics

PRETTY - WELL - ORGANISED

Home Ergonomics was founded in 2025 to bring considered organising to families across the region. We are now formally extending our service to work alongside the agencies, house managers, and household staff who care for larger private homes in the area. The values that shape our work: discretion, considered systems, and respect for the household, remain the same regardless of the scale of the property.

This page is an introduction for those of you working in that world. If you're considering whether Home Ergonomics might be a useful addition to your professional network, or a considered service to introduce to a principal or a placement, you'll find everything you need to know below.

What We Do

Home Ergonomics is a considered home organising service. We create pantries, wardrobes, dressing rooms, utility rooms, playrooms, and whole-house systems that function beautifully day-to-day and continue to work long after we've left.

Our projects are led by Vicky Edmundson, and each one begins with an unhurried Home Visit, a thoughtful conversation about the space and the way daily life unfolds within it. From there, we design and implement systems tailored to the specific rhythms of that home.

We are well suited to being brought in during transitional moments: a family moving into a new property, a household preparing for changes in how it runs day-to-day, or a home where the existing systems have quietly stopped serving the family who live there.

How We Work with Household Staff

Our role is to support the staff who care for a home day-to-day, never to replace or unsettle them.

We begin by listening. The house manager or head housekeeper knows the home in ways no visiting professional ever could, and their insight shapes the work we do. Our goal is to leave the home with better systems, clearer organisation, and a foundation that makes the staff's ongoing work more intuitive.

For newly placed house managers, we can be brought in during the first weeks of a placement to reset a home's systems and clearly document how each space is organised. Our aim in these engagements is to shorten the learning curve and help the placement settle in with greater ease.

When working with established staff, our approach is to work alongside them, respecting the systems they've built, refining the ones that would benefit from a fresh eye, and being led by their knowledge of the household throughout.

The Projects We're Designed For

Home Ergonomics has been built to handle the full range of household organising work, from single-room resets to whole-house systems, and from family homes to more complex properties with staff. The projects we’re especially well placed to support include:

Whole-house resets

To support transitions in how a household is run

Storage Systems

For Pantry, larder and kitchen in country and family homes

Dressing rooms and wardrobes

For principals preparing for a new season, a house move, or a wardrobe edit

Playrooms and children's spaces

A natural fit for families with young children and the staff who support them

Back-of-house storage

Utility rooms, boot rooms, and back-of-house storage, the working heart of a household

Seasonal rotations

Wardrobes, linens, and stored items brought in and out with the year

Pre-move and post-move organisation

Packing considered, unpacking systemised

Ongoing seasonal visits

Twice-yearly resets for households who prefer to keep their systems considered year-round

Every project is bespoke, quietly managed, and tailored to the specific household.

Discretion and Confidentiality

Discretion is fundamental to how we work. We never photograph a client's home without explicit permission, never name a household without consent, and never discuss one client's home with another. Our website, social media, and marketing contain no identifying details of any private household we've worked with unless we've been specifically invited to share.

For households where confidentiality is paramount, we're comfortable working under NDA and can be introduced without any public trace of the engagement.

References from private clients who have engaged our service directly are available on request. For referring partners considering us for an introduction, we're always happy to arrange a preliminary conversation with Vicky so that any questions about our approach, working methods, or standards can be addressed directly.

How We Handle a Referral

Most referrals begin with a short introduction, either an email from the agency, a call from the house manager, or a warm handover from a PA on behalf of a principal.

From there, the process is designed to be as simple as possible for you:

1. Initial introduction

You introduce us, and we take it from there

2. Discovery call

A short, unhurried conversation with the relevant staff member or principal to understand the household and the brief

3. Home Visit

A calm, considered visit to the property to see the space and discuss the work in detail

4. Written proposal

A clear, transparent scope of work, timeline, and fee, sent within a working week

5. The work itself

Carried out discreetly, on the household's timeline, with regular updates to whoever is coordinating on your side

6. Closing the loop

A brief note back to you when the project completes, so you know your referral has landed well

Throughout the process, we communicate proactively with whoever introduced us.

We understand that a referral is a professional trust placed in us, and we treat it accordingly.

A Note on Working Together

We approach every agency, house manager, and referring partner as the beginning of a long-term relationship, not a transactional introduction. If there is ever anything we can do to support your work such as offering a second opinion on a household system or being a considered pair of hands you can call on, please do ask.

Equally, if there are ways we can make it easier for you to introduce us, we're always open to a conversation. Some referring partners may prefer that we handle everything directly with the household; others may prefer to remain the point of contact throughout.
We adapt to how you like to work.
